If you’ve ever called the IRS customer service line, you know the feeling of sitting on the phone for not minutes, but perhaps even hours waiting for an opportunity to speak to a live human being to try to work out a solution to your tax liability. I can recall multiple occasions when I have called the IRS, been on hold for anywhere from 45 minutes to more than an hour, only to have the call inexplicably “dropped” before I can speak with a customer service representative. Of course, I have heard countless stories where the customer service representative who does answer the phone is less than helpful to taxpayers seeking assistance. Thankfully, there are other, more productive ways to seek resolution of tax problems than sitting on the phone all day. Don’t make the mistake of taking on this serious problem alone. Be sure you get the help you need from a competent professional you can trust, preferably someone you can sit down and meet eye to eye.
